I have a great idea for a new kind of social networking website but I don’t know what to do to get it started. What do I need to do?

The coming of Oprah and Ashton Kutcher to Twitter brought a whole new meaning to the way the social site is perceived today and will be perceived in the future, according to social media expert Chris Brogan. He relates the situation to when the telephone came about saying that with Twitter, some will reject the service after a time, but there will still be newcomers anxious to get involved.

Hello, I’m writing a paper on social networking right now, and I’m a little stuck. I need to write about how social networking draws people closer together, and I’ve already written about communication and information/file sharing. Does anyone have any other ideas?? Thanks.

I was wondering if there are any good books on owning and managing a social networking website. I have found it difficult to prepare for the challenges of managing a website. We recently hired a consulting/software development company that has taken care of everything from design and development to analyzing, testing, and hosting. However, I would like to know everything that they know!

Is there anything I can study to learn the ins and outs of owning and operating a social networking website?

I decided the other day that I was tired of MySpace and all the other just general ‘keep in touch with my friends’ social networking type sites out there… Being a freelance (part time) web builder I thought it might be a fun project to set up one of my own, so I did… I just launched it today – and I’m the only member so far
