In this section you will find a complete list of all the standard features that will be included in the community site we will build for you. Additional features are listed in the products and services tables for each site package.

Please note that the software developers may add new features not listed below in future upgrades. When this happens, we'll inform you via our newsletter updates.

AJAX Capabilities
 
Ajax, or AJAX (Asynchronous JavaScript and XML), is a group of interrelated web development techniques used to create interactive web applications or rich Internet applications.
 
This allows users to access interactive features like adding comments, composing messages and inviting friends without waiting for the page to refresh every time they want to use the feature.

Video Module
  • Support for users to upload videos direct from their computer or from sites like YouTube, MySpace, Google etc...
  • Video conversion is done by FFMPEG, which will convert videos into the .flv format which will allow users to view videos in a Flash video player.
  • Video conversion routine also creates a thumbnail image on the fly.
  • Option to either allow videos direct on your site or have them approved before they show up in the main video section.
  • Option to edit the "Allowed" file extensions.
  • Option to edit the color layout of the video player.
  • Option to watermark the video player with your sites logo.
  • Option to modify the time the software takes a snapshot of a video which in return creates the thumbnail for the video.
  • "Latest Videos" AJAX box found in your sites index page.
  • "AJAX BOX" displayed in the main index page of the video module displays the Featured, Most Viewed, Most Discussed and Top Favorite videos.

  • Images added publicly are displayed in the Battle section of the Gallery module.

    • Members can select an image they feel will win the battle between two images

  • Featured images are displayed randomly on the index page of the Gallery module.

Poll Module
  • Members can add/edit/delete polls and specify the question and the possible answers. They must add at least one answer and a maximum of four
  • Polls added are displayed in the main index page of the Poll module

  • Once a member has voted on a poll they can view the results for the poll
  • Results list all the members that voted on the poll and a diagram of the answers

  • The index page for the Group module provides a list of all the group categories and how many groups belong to each category. It also lists the latest groups that were added to the module.
  • The Group module also provides a powerful search tool that can:
    • Find groups by a specific category
    • Find groups by their location (Country, State (Optional), ZIP and City)
    • Sort the order by: Time, Name or Most Popular
    • Keyword search which picks up on a groups title or description
  • If a user belongs to a group or if they created a group it will show up on their profile.

Classified Module
  • Members can add/edit a classified and specify the following:
    • Subject

    • Location: Country, State (Optional) or City

  • Members can delete any of their own listings
  • All listings are added to the main page of the Classified module. This page lists all the categories and the latest listings added to that category
  • The Classified module also provides a powerful search tool that can:
    • Find listings by a specific category
    • Find listings by their location (Country, State (Optional) and City)
    • Keyword search which picks up on a listings title or description
  • Admins can...
    • delete or edit any of the listings
    • can add/edit/delete any of the listing categories direct from the Admin CP

Quiz Module
  • Members can add a quiz create up to 10 questions
  • Members can delete any of their own quizzes
  • All quizzes are added to the main page of the Quiz module. From there members can view all the quizzes and attempt to take them
  • Members that have taken a quiz can then view their results as well as any other members that may have taken the same specific quiz
  • Each quiz lists the latest person to have taken the quiz and displays the score they got
  • All quizzes must be approved by an Admin before it gets added to the main Quiz module
  • Admins can delete any of the quizzes

Instant Messenger

Instant Messenger provides an easy way for your members to communicate with each other.

Features include:

  • AJAX Powered
  • Personal status: Online, Away, Busy or Be Right Back
  • Admins can add/edit/delete personal statues from the Admin CP in the Options Manager
  • AJAX powered friends search which finds any friends online
  • Sound alert if a user gets a new request or new instant message.
  • Users can decide to turn off the sound alert by clicking on the "Settings" link found in the index of the Instant Messenger.
  • When a user enters a room it will announce it in the IM room.
  • When a user leaves the IM room it will announce it to the other user
  • If a user closes their main Instant Messenger window it will also close any other windows related to the IM.

Chat & Shoutbox Modules

Chat & Shoutbox provides a easy way for your members to communicate with each other.

Chat Features include:

  • AJAX Powered
  • Multiple rooms, which Admins can add/edit/delete from the Admin CP
  • WYSIWYG text editor with emoticons
  • Flood control
  • Bad word filter
  • List of who is online chatting
  • Only displays chat messages from the present day, this option can be turned off from the Admin CP.

Shoutbox features include:

  • Shoutbox located on the index page of your site and on the index page for each group.
  • Admins can view and delete any shout outs from the Admin CP

Social Bookmarking

The Social Bookmarking module connects to a few other modules on your site. The default social bookmarking sites we added are Digg, Del.icio.us, Facebook, Furl, Magnolia, StumbleUpon, Google and Yahoo MyWeb. You can enable or disable any of these sites from your Admin CP.

When you view a gallery image, blog, forum thread, music album or an event you will notice a table with the provided social bookmarking sites. This feature also updates the “BOOKMARK US” link found on the top right of your site. It will now say “BOOKMARK” and if clicked, a drop down of the provided social bookmarking sites will appear. First on the list will be “Favorites” and this is if they want to bookmark your site with their web browser. This will allow users to bookmark any page on your site.

This feature can be disabled from your Admin CP.

They can upload a background image, change the color of the main menus, change the color of all the comments and much much more. For advanced users we also provide a CSS box where they can add CSS code to spice up their profile. We also provide a detailed layout guide and the option to revert their page back to its default state.

    Where a member can compose a new message to another member.

  • Comment Alerts

    Displays links to comments that are posted on a members profile or any of their items.

Friends
  • My List

    Lists all the friends a member has. It also lists the Top Friends they have selected with the option to "Drag-and-Drop" new friends.

  • New Requests

    Any new “Friend Request” can be found here.

  • Pending

    If a member has sent out a friends request to another user it will remain here until the other member accepts or denies the request.

Favorites

Members can add a user, songs, albums or videos to their favorite list. This list gives them easy access to find their favorite profiles or items. This list is also displayed on their profile.

Bulletin
  • View Bulletins

    View all the bulletins posted by other members.

  • My Bulletins

    View all the bulletins you have posted.

  • Post A Bulletin

    Post a new bulletin.

Invite
  • Invite Friends

    Invite your friends to the site using the email invite tool we provide. Each invite is tracked and if the invitee signs up for the site both the inviter and invitee become friends. Plus the inviter gets points for inviting the new member.

  • Pending Invites

    All pending invites are listed here so members can keep track of who they already invited.

User Profiles
Home
The profile home page displays as much information about the user as well as the latest items they have added to the site. This page includes:
  • Sub-menu that links to a users personal sub-sections
  • Profile image with information regarding their gender, headline, location, age, profile views and how many points they have earned
  • "My Details" box is provided to list personal details about themselves. This box is reserved for custom drop downs that are added from the Admin CP.
  • Apart from the custom drop down values it lists how long they have been a member, their star sign, last time they logged in and their general user rating.
  • Box that lists their latest blogs
  • Box that lists all the groups they are a part of
  • Box that lists the users that have recently visited their page
  • Link to report the user
  • Flash music player
  • Box that displays the latest videos they have added
  • Box that displays the latest images they have added
  • Box that displays their friends and displays the "Top Friends" at the very top of that list
  • Displays the 10 latest comments added to their profile plus the ability to add more comments directly without having to visit the guestbook
  • Custom profile fields are also displayed and this may vary since Admins have the choice to use our default fields or create their own.
  • If a member needs to get in contact with another member they can do this all from the Contact Panel we provide. It will allow them to send a private message, crush alert or instant message. It will also give users the ability to add another user as a friend, add them to their favorites list, rate them, invite them to a group or even block/unblock that user.
Gallery
Each user has a personal gallery that displays all their images. Members can post comments on each of the images.
Blog
This area displays all of the users blogs. Members can post comments on each of the blogs. Link to the users personal RSS feed is also provided.
Guestbook
Personal guestbook where other members can add entries.
Friends
Displays all the users friends and list all their Top Friends at the very top of this page.
Favorites
Displays a list of favorite users, songs, albums and videos they use may have added.
Videos
Displays a list of all the users videos. Links back to the main Video module where members can then comment on the video.
